The Komponent Of a Computer

A computer contains many electric, electronic, and mechanical components as hardware. These components include input devices, and communication devices.

Input Devices

An input devices is any hadware components that allows you to enter data and instructions into a computer.Six widely used input devices are the keyboard, mouse, icrophone, scanner, digital camera, and PC video camera .

A component keyboard contains keys you press to enter data into computer.A mouse is a small handheld devices. With the mouse, you control movement of a small symbol on the screen ,called the pointer, and you make selection from the screen.

A microfhone allows a user to speak into the computer to enter data and instruction.A scanner converts printed material (such as text and picture) into a form the computer can use.

With a digital camera, you take picture and the transfer the photographed images to the computer or printer instead of storing the images on traditional film.APC video camera that allows users create a movie or take still photographs electronically.

Output device

An output device is any hardware that convoys information to one or more people.Three commonly used output devices are printer,a monitor, and speakers .

A printer produces text and graphics on a physical medium such as paper.A monitor displays text, graphics, and videos on a screen.Speakers allow you to hear music, voice, and other audio audio(sounds).

System Unit

The system unit is a case that contains the electronic components of the computer that are used to process data. The circuitry of the system unit usually is part of or is connected to are circui board called the motherboard.

To main components on the motherboard are the processor and memory. The processor is the electronic component that interprets and carries out the basic instructions that operate the computer.Memory consists of electronic component that store instructions waiting to be executed and data needed by those instructions.Although same forms of memory are permanent, most memory keeps data and instruction temporarily, which means its contents are erased when the computer is shut off.

Storage Devices

Torage holds data, instructions, and information for future use.For example, computers can store hundreds or millions of customers names and addresses.Storage holds these items permanently.

A com puters keeps data, instructions, and information on storage media.Exsamples of storage media are floppy disks, zip disks,USB flash drives, hard dicks,CDs,DVDs,and memory cards. A storage device records (writes) and/or retrives (reads) item to and from storage media.Drivers and riders/writers,which are types of storage devices, accept a specific kind of storage media. For example,a CD drive (storage device) accepts a CD(storage media).Storage devices often fungtion as a source of input because they transfer items from storage to memory.

A floppy disk consists of a thin, circular, flexible, disk enclosed in a square-shapedpalstic shell that is inserted in and removed from a floppy idsk drive.A typical floppy disk stores up to about 1.4 million characters.A zip disk looks similar to a floppy disk but has much grester storage capabilities-up to about 750 million characters. You insert Zip disks in a remove them from Zip devices.

A USB flask drive is a portable storage device that has much more storage capacity than a floppy bat is a small and lightweight enough to be transported on a keychain or in a pocket. You plug a USB flash drive in a special, easily accessible opening on the computer.
