Telkom Launches IP Transit

JAKARTA - MI: PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom) Tbk launched IP Transit service or transit service (peering) to the global Internet bandwidth ratio of 1:1. Through this service, Internet access becomes faster because the bandwidth is not used together.




IP Transit service is the interconnection services to the global Internet traffic with the route features a full BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) Internet using the IP block and the U.S. (Autonomous System) number owned by the customer.

This is innovation Telkom to provide solutions in the Internet access, customers can get a guarantee bandwidth, said Chief Operating Officer of Telkom Ermady Dahlan, after the launching ceremony IP Transit in Jakarta, Thursday (4 / 12).

This service, he continued, will accelerate Internet penetration in Indonesia with the provision of services to the global Internet for other licensed operators and corporations with premium quality and competitive prices. This service is suitable for corporate and campus, he added.

Unlike similar services that already exist in the market, he explained, IP Transit service, Telkom membeerikan guarantee the ratio to 1:1 bandwidth to the upstream provider, Telkom. In addition, this service also has a broad scope.

Currently, IP Transit, Telkom there in 15 locations, namely Jakarta-Semanggi, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, Solo, Bandung, Denpasar, Medan, Jakarta-KaretTengsin, Palembang, Pekanbaru, Batam, Semarang, Balikpapan, Jakarta-Gambir, Jakarta and Cyber-Building.

In the same yesterday, signing cooperation Telkom do oenggunaan IP Transit with nine agencies, namely Jaya Engineering, the Department of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bina Nusantara University, Satcom, and Pikanet. In addition, the University of Indonesia, Surabaya Institute of Technology, Surabaya University, and University of Petra.
